2021 Big Give – Gratitude!!!

0

Friends!!! We are still overflowing with gratitude, awe, and joy after this week’s Big Give event.

On Wednesday, we shared a post with all of the Artist & Leadership Pay Grant and Venue Grant winners. You can view that here!

We wanted to take a moment to thank some of the incredible people and organizations who worked behind the scenes to ensure that The Big Give was a success. We are so lucky to have an amazing community of sponsors, volunteers, and colleagues who help make our work impactful!

THANK YOUS

– We are SO GRATEFUL to the Howard Gilman Foundation for the generous grant that allowed us to increase the awarded grants this year to $50,000. We appreciate their contribution to this event and everything they do to support the robust, innovative, indie performing arts organizations in New York City.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka for sponsoring our bar. Every year. We love you Tito’s!

Judson Memorial Church for hosting this event and Gof and Melissa for their help in making the space feel special.

– The IndieSpace and Indie Theater Fund Board of Directors: Raquel Almazan, Joseph Auld, Sam Badawi, Brian Berk, Dechelle Damien, Pamela Kupper, Charlie Lebess, Paul Leibowitz, Marty Linsky, Samuel Morales Jr., Siobhan O’Neill, and Erez Ziv. And an extra special thanks to Erez, Pamela, and Siobhan, who worked so hard to ensure our hybrid event was a success!

– Shelby Edwards of Inclusive Communication Services for ASL Interpretation.

Najah Muhammad, our incredible host and emcee.

– The amazing and helpful volunteers that made the in-person event flow so smoothly – Sarah Benvenuti, Bianca Brehen, Dechelle Damien, Austin Lucas, Peter Michael Marino, Stephanie Pfeffer, and Garret Poladian.

– Our gratitude to everyone who made the food and drinks so enjoyable! Dish Food and Events made the delicious food. Howard Gibbons and his shop Drink PLG have been long-time supporters of the Fund and Debby Bell, bar manager at The Kraine and Frigid NYC.

Jenn Bobo and Keara Kirkpatrick for providing support and technical expertise for our Zoom attendees.

– And fantastic photos by Benjamin Spradley.

Again, our love, appreciation, and thanks to everyone who worked so hard ‘behind the curtain’ to make The Big Give happen!

As our dear friend John Clancy shared on Facebook, “And to think it all started in a dive bar on the Lower East Side eight years ago. Actually, I guess a lot of great things started in places like that. Congratulations all. Onward.”

Love and Onward,

Randi and Brea
