ABOUT THIS LOTTERY:
As part of our Mental Health programming, the Indie Theater Fund and IndieSpace are excited to open our second Mental Health Community Resource Lottery! This will be one application for THREE lotteries! Apply for one, two, or ALL three of these amazing offerings. These offerings are in collaboration with FORGE NYC, Jessica Z Therapy, and KD Movement.
LOTTERY OFFERINGS:
Offering #1: TWO one-on-one customized movement/body sessions with KD Diallo
KD Diallo will be working with TWO people to design and lead a 1hr custom private movement and body session. These sessions will be designed for the artists needs/desires with offerings ranging from: mind-body-sensory explorations, breath & meditation, stretch, strengthen, floor barre, sensual movement, Dunham Technique, micro movement, exploring creative processes and pathways, character development &/or movement specialist work. While there is a plethora of possibility, the 20 min complimentary pre-session consultation will guide how each session will be designed & led by KD. Sessions will take place virtually over Zoom.
Offering #2: THREE spots at the FORGE NYC May FORGE FUEL retreat
FORGE Fuel is a monthly writers retreat offering an escape from the rhythms of city life and a chance to spend a weekend working in the company of like-minded creators. Set at a quiet country farmhouse in a pastoral corner of Connecticut, with plenty of opportunities for feedback and collaboration (and the comfort of home-cooked meals!), FORGE Fuel provides the ideal conditions for lighting a fire from your creative spark.
FORGE FUEL participants receive:
- A dedicated weekend for share-back sessions and to spend with your work aloud.
- A cohort of like-minded artists.
- Opportunities for producorial and dramaturgical feedback from FORGE.
- Space to eat, sleep, and work in comfort for the duration of the weekend in Danbury, CT.
- Meals curated and prepared by FORGE.
- Logistical support to and from the Retreat.
- 10 acres of stunning property to muse, roam, and explore; Perfect for jumpstarting any process, just 90 minutes outside of NYC.
Offering #3: TEN spots in an artist centric therapy and support group led by Jessica Zur-Linden
This group has been developed as a response to the isolation and anxiety within the theatre community during the past two years. This will be a space for any kind of theatre artist to share their experiences, receive support from others, and gather up a few coping skills along the way. The group will be facilitated by Jessica Zur-Linden, a licensed therapist to maintain the boundaries of the group and to provide individual support if necessary. Participants will be able to meet weekly for a six-week support group cycle. Each session will be scheduled for 90 minutes. These sessions will be virtual, given safety and space constraints.

Applications are due by 5pm on Friday, April 15th!
The lottery pull will take place on Friday, April 22nd
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
This application is open to any NYC-based Indie theater artist in need of mental health resources, even if you have previously been awarded this grant. Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply, this will NOT be a weighted lottery and all applicants will be given equal opportunity to receive these offerings
LOTTERY PROCESS:
To apply for the lotteries, please complete the application linked below. This application should take you 10 minutes or less to complete. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 15th at 5pm! You will receive a notification of your application status and your lottery number by Wednesday, April 20th. Eligible applicants will then be entered into the lottery drawings* which will occur on Friday, April 22nd. If you enter multiple lotteries you will only be eligible to win a max of ONE OFFERING. If you win a lottery your name will be pulled from the pot for the subsequent lottery pulls.
*We will be using the Random Picker software to run our lotteries. Screen recordings of each lottery will be made and are available to review by request.
