Our process differs based on the grant. We intend to be flexible with the process based on feedback from our community and participants. Some applications are rolling, others have a set application period. Please check back to this space periodically for updates.
UNRESTRICTED GIVING – SET APPLICATION PERIOD, TYPICALLY SUMMER
The funding process and the focus for the unrestricted giving will be determined on an annual basis by the Board of Directors. The goal of this giving is to support the needs directed by the participants in the Fund. If the need is for general operating we will try and accommodate that. If the need is for artist pay we will do our best to accommodate that as well. The process will be radically transparent and not judged by the board of directors. Applicants will submit a fact sheet and it will be reviewed for eligibility only. If applicants are eligible their name will be entered into a lottery to receive a grant. There may be opportunities, through social media or other creative means, to increase your chances to win.
COMMUNITY RESOURCE FUNDING – SET APPLICATION PERIOD, TYPICALLY SUMMER
The funding process for the Community Resource Grant is radically transparent and puts the power of giving in the hands of the community. Applicants’ proposals are reviewed for eligibility only. Applicants create a video that is posted online and indie theater supporters and audience vote for their favorite video. The top three videos with the most “Likes” moves on to a second round that is voted on by Indie Theater Fund participants only.
URGENCY FUNDING – ROLLING DEADLINE, APPLY ANYTIME
If a participant finds themselves in an emergency situation (theft, injury, natural disaster) that would impact a performance or if an urgent opportunity presents itself they can apply, at any time, to our Urgency Fund. A very brief application is filled out on our Urgency Fund page and a few attachments are delivered via email. The Urgency Committee will review the application and will aim to reply and deliver a check within 48 hours.
