American Theater Magazine covers 1st ever LIT Fund grant recipient!
Board members John Clancy and Susan Bernfield were interviewed by Eliza Bent for the February issue of American Theatre Magazine. The Fund, with contributions from over 37 theater companies, at one nickel per ticket sold at their respective shows, granted $5,000 to Flux Theatre and Gideon Productions to fund their proposed community resource sharing website: S.H.I.T. List for Independent Theater.
The website was decided on among 9 submissions which were voted on by the public and ultimately the independent theatre companies participating in The Fund. The S.H.I.T. List is an online forum for making available set pieces, props, costumes, and other items, directly connecting theatre artists and theatre companies to each other to aid in the donation, selling of or trading of available physical materials left over after productions complete their schedules.
The Fund anticipates that the website can reduce economic and environmental impact industry wide by saving time and preventing waste.
